Fornos said...
After completing a quest that took the Knights Emissary to the brink at Lake V, to rescue documents and a spy to Fornost Erain, Zach parts company with the rest of the party.
Arendel, Maya and Fornos went on an expedition to raise revenue for the new guild house by delving deep into the mines in the East Forest of Fornost Erain. Everything went flawlessly, going as deep into the mines as ever can be done, gathering gem ore and rolling though the Ogres hording the ioun stones at the very bottom. After all the gems were extracted from the ore, Fornos and Maya began their ascent to meet Arendel, who has started up eariler. Suddenly, a call was made that a stray Troll, no two, were in the East Forest roaming about. The race was on for Fornos and Maya to meet their lone companion to confront these beasts.
Upon reaching the teammate, it was discovered he had been stricken down by the creatures and needed to be resurrected. Fornos brought Arendel back to his feet and the battle was soon on to bring these trolls to the ground.
One had fallen fairly quickly, but the other, the yellow eyed one, was surely not to fall as easy. The battle raged for days....one, two, three...if it wasn't going for four days then surely it was seven. Night fell and the sun rose over and over and we had bought so much equipment, surely we negated our efforts in the mine to topple this lone troll. Battle-weary, without any damage to the beast, as he continued to regenerate health, the word spread throughout Middle Earth a beast was loose, soon some members of another guild arrived to help assault this creature. Finally, as quickly as one would open a door, a critical blow was exacted by a summon to bring this beast down. For the final time.
Very difficult time, and anti-climatic, as we had fought so hard, for so long, build seige blockades and catapults that did nothing to bring the troll down. Then to have a summon deliver a solitary blow to finish him off, was difficult to bare. At any rate, it was a victory for Fornost Erain, and the forest if relatively safe once again..
